The Bernstein Companies Acquires The DoubleTree Bethesda

The Bernstein Companies (TBC) announced today that it acquired The DoubleTree Bethesda for $50.1 million. TBC has also taken over as Manager of the 270 room upscale, full-service hotel and will continue to operate the hotel pursuant to a franchise agreement with DoubleTree, a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide.  TBC plans to reposition the property, with upgrades to the lobby, meeting rooms, ballroom, guest rooms and exterior.

The DoubleTree is TBC’s second hotel in Bethesda, MD.  The first, the boutique Bethesda Court Hotel, has been owned and managed by The Bernstein Companies for over 30 years.  “We are thrilled to add the DoubleTree Bethesda to our portfolio and expand our presence in vibrant downtown Bethesda,” said Marc Duber, Chief Operating Officer of The Bernstein Companies.

The DoubleTree Bethesda features 270 guestrooms, over 15,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, and a full-service restaurant and bar. The hotel offers full-service amenities including a seasonal rooftop pool and sundeck, fully-equipped fitness center, valet parking, and complimentary shuttle service to and from the National Institutes of Health and the Bethesda Metro.
